Shomyo Chant and Gagaku “Jugyuzu and Shutei-ga Ichigu: Creation of New Tradition”
New breezes blow into the traditional music scene. Masterpieces of modern gagaku and new shomyo chants will fill the music hall.

A modern gagaku piece “Shutei-ga Ichigu,” a famous masterpiece composed by Toru Takemitsu for the National Theatre, will be presented in the program. In addition, a new shomyo piece “Jugyuzu” composed by Yoshihiro Kanno will be performed. Please enjoy the new sounds of traditional music which will fill the theatre.
